DOCX / DOC input · Editable DOCX · Bilingual review

Translate Word documents and keep editing the result

Upload a DOCX or DOC file to translate readable text in paragraphs and tables. Review the source and translation together, then download the available translation-only, alternating bilingual or side-by-side Word file for further editing in your office application.

Use DOCX when possible. Legacy DOC files require conversion, and text inside scanned images still needs separate recognition. Choose your target language and model before uploading.

When to use this workflow

Quotations and product documents

Translate paragraphs and table text while keeping an editable document. After downloading, check product identifiers, amounts, currencies, quantities and units against the correct table rows.

Working documents and project reports

Translate an editable draft for colleagues who work in another language. Use the paired preview to review meaning and a translation-only DOCX for later formatting and revisions.

Documents that need close review

Keep the source and translation in one bilingual Word file to check terminology and sentence meaning. Allow for additional pages: a bilingual document usually contains more text than its source.

How to translate and download your result

  1. Prepare a Word file that opens correctly

Prefer DOCX and keep the original. You can upload a legacy DOC file; if conversion fails, save a DOCX copy in your office application and try again.

  2. Set the target language and upload

Choose your target language and an available model, check its credit cost, and upload the document. Keeping an editable Word source avoids an extra PDF text-extraction step.

  3. Check paragraph and table text

Use the paired preview to inspect names, abbreviations, dates, amounts and units. Edit wording where needed, and compare any apparent source-text error with the original document.

  4. Choose an output and continue editing

Select the available translation-only, alternating bilingual or side-by-side download. Save changes made in the preview through its edited export option. Open the downloaded file in Word or another compatible editor to review the layout.

Limitations and checks before you use the result

  • Legacy DOC files require conversion. Damaged, encrypted or unusual documents may fail this step; saving a DOCX copy can make them easier to process.
  • Readable paragraphs and table text are processed as document text. Words inside an image require separate image translation.
  • Translation length can change table heights, page breaks and text-box fit. Bilingual versions add text and may differ substantially from the original pagination.
  • Check headers, footers, footnotes, numbering, links and special objects after downloading. Retain the source for comparison of untranslated content and complex formatting.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload both DOC and DOCX files?

Both formats are accepted. DOCX enters the Word translation workflow, while legacy DOC is converted to DOCX first. If conversion fails, save the document as DOCX in your office application before uploading again.

Can I edit the translated Word document?

The Word translation workflow provides DOCX downloads that you can open in a compatible office application. If you edited text in the website preview, use its edited export option to include those changes rather than downloading the original generated translation.

Can I create a bilingual Word document?

When the job generates the corresponding outputs, you can download alternating source-and-translation or side-by-side bilingual DOCX files. Choose the target language before uploading, then check tables and pagination in the longer bilingual result.

Are tables and images in Word translated?

Readable text inside tables is included in document translation. Words inside a screenshot or scanned image need recognition; placing that image in Word does not turn it into editable text. Save the image separately and use image translation for its contents.
