When to use this workflow

Read research papers

Understand an abstract, the main discussion and conclusions before checking important terms against the source. Review equations, references and labels inside figures separately.

Work with business reports

Translate customer reports, product information and industry analysis into your working language. Prioritize numbers, units, table alignment and company names when reviewing the download.

Understand technical manuals

Keep the original PDF beside the translation while reading installation or operating instructions. Check model numbers, part identifiers and warnings directly against the source.

How to translate and download your result

  1. Check that the PDF contains readable text

Copy a paragraph from the original and check its reading order. Pages that contain only scans need text recognition first. For a protected file, prepare a copy that opens normally and allows its text to be read.

  2. Choose a target language and model, then upload

Set the language you want, check the model and credit information, and upload your PDF below. If a translation mode selector is shown, choose quick translation for the document workflow.

  3. Review completed paragraphs as they arrive

Compare the source and translation in the preview. Check specialist terms, numbers and ambiguous sentences first. You can edit the text in the paired preview.

  4. Download and check the final pages

Choose an available translated or bilingual download when the job finishes. If you changed text in the preview, use its edited export option, then open the file to check pagination, tables and long paragraphs.

Limitations and checks before you use the result

  • The workflow aims to retain the layout, but translation length and fonts can change wrapping and pagination. Review columns, equations, captions and dense tables carefully.
  • Text embedded in an image may not be included in PDF document translation. Export that image separately and use image translation when you need its labels translated.
  • The paragraph preview helps verify meaning; check the final PDF for layout. Long text edits may exceed the space available on a page.
  • Large or complex documents can take longer. Keep the original and download completed results promptly. Download formats depend on the files actually generated for the job.

Frequently asked questions

Does PDF translation preserve the original formatting?

Translation aims to retain the page layout and document structure. Language length, available fonts and complex layouts can still change the result. Check tables, footnotes, columns and long paragraphs; identical formatting is not guaranteed for every PDF.

Can I translate a PDF from English to Chinese or Chinese to English?

Choose the required target language in the upload area, including Chinese or English. Check the selection before uploading. If the service says the file is already in the target language, review the setting and the original document.

Why is some text in my PDF untranslated?

The text may be part of an image, or extraction may be affected by scan quality, PDF encoding or a complex layout. Try copying the passage from the original PDF. Use image translation for image text, and review the source text when extraction is incorrect.

Can I translate a PDF for free?

The upload area lists the free and credit-based models currently available. Free models do not consume document credits; other models use the allowance shown beside them. Free-model availability and service status depend on the current configuration.
