Translate text in DWG and DXF drawings online

Preparing a drawing for colleagues who work in another language? Upload a 2D DWG or DXF, translate its readable text, review and adjust the translation in the paired view, then download the corresponding original-format drawing.

Choose a target language and model before uploading. The supported scope is readable text in 2D drawings. External references, image-based text and special objects may not be processed. Keep the original and review the download in your CAD application.

When to use this workflow

Read drawing notes in another language

Understand readable notes, then compare equipment names, abbreviations and technical expressions against the source. Interpret geometry and dimensions using the original drawing.

Prepare project material for a multilingual team

Translate readable drawing text into your team's working language with fewer copy-and-paste steps between a chat tool and the drawing. Check important terms and text placement before sharing.

Continue working with the drawing file

After review and editing, download the corresponding DWG or DXF and continue checking it in your existing CAD workflow. You do not need to turn the whole drawing into a PDF first.

How to translate and download your result

  1. Prepare the original 2D DWG or DXF

Keep the original and check that the content you need is readable text. Text stored as an image, outlines or an external reference cannot be treated as an ordinary text object.

  2. Choose a target language and model, then upload

Confirm the target language and the current model and credit information before choosing your DWG or DXF. The page shows available formats and allowance.

  3. Compare and edit the translation

Review source and translation in the existing paired workspace. Check names, abbreviations, dimension notes, numbers and units. Edit wording there when needed.

  4. Download and reopen the original format

Use the corresponding format offered for the task. If you edited the translation, export the current changes. Open the downloaded file in your CAD application and check the text, placement and drawing content before use.

Limitations and checks before you use the result

  • The supported scope is readable text in 2D DWG and DXF drawings. Support does not cover every CAD format, version or object. DWF is not currently supported.
  • Complex text formatting, external references, image-based text and special objects have limitations. Visible lettering is not necessarily readable text.
  • Translation length and available fonts affect the space used by text. Check overlap, obscured labels, missing characters, numbers, units and dimension notes.
  • Keep the original and reopen the downloaded file in your CAD application. A qualified reviewer should check the translation against the geometry and project requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can I translate an English DWG or DXF drawing into Chinese?

Choose Chinese as the target language to translate readable text in a 2D DWG or DXF. Check that the text objects can be read, then review technical names, numbers and units against the source.

Can I download a translated DWG or DXF?

Original-format export is supported: a DWG task offers DWG output, and a DXF task offers DXF output. Use the download actually available for the task and reopen it in a CAD application to check the result.

Will every label and image in the drawing be translated?

Not every object can be processed. The current workflow handles readable text; complex formatting, external references, image-based text and special objects may not be readable or writable. Lines that resemble lettering are not necessarily text objects.

Can I translate a CAD drawing for free?

The upload area shows currently available free document models and credit-based models. Available free models do not consume document credits. Other model costs, file-size limits and concurrency limits are shown on the page.

Are DWF files, 3D models or other CAD formats supported?

This page covers the verified scope of readable text in 2D DWG and DXF drawings. DWF and other formats are not currently supported, and 3D model processing is not presented as a verified capability.
